Kaya is all about personal confidence through expert skin care which seamlessly blends looking good with feeling good about our inner and outer selves at all times.

While, nothing can replace the expertise and importance of a dermatologist's analysis of your skin, today we provide you with a few power packed tips that can get you started on the course of beautiful and healthy skin.

Use a mashed tomato or tomato pulp on your skin to give a pinkish glow to your skin. Tomato is very good for giving you fair skin tone.

Massage your skin with almond oil or olive oil to get fair and soft skin, you can add a pinch of saffron to get better results

Mix yoghurt with lemon juice and apply it on your skin daily before bath. This is one of the best remedy for reducing sun tan.

If you have got dandruff, prepare a solution by mixing 1 teaspoon of castor, mustard and coconut oil each and massage and apply into the scalp.

If you have dry and cracked lips then rub a piece of cucumber on your lips it will heal your lips and make them soft and smooth.

Orange peel is very effective home treatment for acne. Prepare a paste of orange peel with little water and apply on the affected area. This will cleanse your skin pores and give you acne free skin.

Drink plenty of water, eat raw vegetables and fruit for healthy hair.

Aloe Vera is the best remedy for sun tanned skin. This can be applied before going to bed.

Exercise works wonders for your skin! It gets your blood circulation going, makes you sweat and cleanses your skin from deep inside, clears your pores and increases your metabolism.

Cucumber juice mixed with honey is very useful for making dry skin fairer.

On Flight – Skin Care

Our skin takes a beating when we hop on a plane for a long flight mainly on account of dehydration of your skin. This is due to the combination of high altitude and temperature and pressure maintenance required in the flight.
Thus the basic care required would be moisturizer, moisturizer and moisturizer!

  • Good cleansing forms the base of any skin care regimen you follow. When you plan to board a flight avoid using scrubs and granular cleansers. Also avoid cleansers with glycolic or salicylic acids as these tend to dry up the skin. Instead use mild cleansers or cleansers for sensitive skin.
  • Use a light moisturizer or a moisturizing sunscreen as a base for the make up.
  • Avoid using heavy foundations and powder make up.
  • Also do not forget to moisturize your hands and feet. You can carry travel pack moisturizer (airport approved – less than 3 ounces) lotion or cream.
  • Reapply the moisturizer every 4 to 6 hours depending on your skin type. If you have a dry skin you would need to moisturize it more frequently.
  • Apply a wet lipstick, avoid using matte lipsticks on flight as this would make your lips feel dry and chapped.
  • Use a live-on conditioner or a long lasting Serum on your hair to keep them from drying and getting frizz.
  • Drink lots of water when on flight.
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol as these tend to increase dehydration

Skin Sins you might be committing

Make Sure You Wash Your Hair Thoroughly After A Hair Wash: If you have sensitive skin, this can be a real no-no!. Pores get clogged, leading to breakouts, especially along the hairline. Make sure you thoroughly cleanse away any residue from your face after rinsing your hair.

Wearing Too Much Moisturizer: You may be extra-vigilant about keeping skin supple, but too much of a good thing can have a reverse effect. Excess cream won’t absorb deeply enough into cellular tissue, so skin won’t be able to breathe and pores will clog. Sometimes this can even manifest in dryness.

Drinking Through a Straw: Constant puckering can bring on premature wrinkles. Repeated facial expressions, such as pursing your lips, cause fine lines around your mouth to form over time. The solution: Lose the straw and drink directly from the glass, bottle or can

Wearing a Too-Tight Ponytail: The tighter the ponytail, the more prone the hair will be to falling out. Pulling every hair into a taut tuft causes traction alopecia, a form of hair loss that leads to a receding hairline. The good news is the recession isn’t likely to be permanent.

Sleeping in Your Makeup: When you forget to wash your face, your skin has the chance to marinate in a day’s worth of debris and oil overnight. The skin is unable to breathe, regenerate tissue, exfoliate dead surface cells and heal itself.

Cleansing With Water That's Too Hot: A temperature that’s scorching causes broken capillaries on the face. The capillary walls are very thin and elastic, so they are reactive to temperature. To keep skin balanced, always cleanse with lukewarm or tepid water.

Rubbing Your Eyes: The area around your eyes is the thinnest, most sensitive area of the face. It needs to be handled with kid gloves. The more you rub it, the more it will stretch. Repeated rubbing or pulling on the lids, especially when putting in contact lenses, can cause skin to slacken and fine lines to form.
